Torremolinos Town Council has launched a new department of Commercial Activities, which will renew and expand the work of the previous initiative. This department will include the creation of an Office of Business Development, with the aim to promote and project the entrepreneurial culture in Torremolinos.
Its aim is to promote economic activity in the municipality by advising on the gradual opening of new stores, encouraging business innovation in the city and managing and encouraging the growth of future businesses, where special attention will be given to young artists. To date, the aforementioned department has helped in the licensing of establishments and has now opened up to professional activities including those in relation to offices or consultancies.
“We want to promote a new focus on the productive and commercial nature of Torremolinos, it’s a vital point for the economic regeneration of the town and therefore a priority for the government team”, said the Councillor for Commerce, Maribel Stump, who stressed the need to “grow and reinvent the existing businesses and potential entrepreneurs and encourage people to make future investments in Torremolinos.”
One of the first activities of this department was a free open day, co-organised with BIC Euronova entitled ‘Urban Development Centre Torremolinos’. A series of conferences held in October at the Hotel Cervantes and attended by the Malaga architect Salvador Moreno Peralta, Social Media expert, Vicente Montiel, and the director of Strategic Consulting company Alad3, David González Busch.
The talks, entitled ‘Back to the Future’, ‘Social networks and small businesses. A successful union ‘and’ strategies to boost local trade ‘, focused on the new possibilities offered by the business sector and the best tools to take advantage of them facing the current social, economic and cultural environment
