According to the Beer Price Index, Geneva is one of the most expensive places in the world for beer whilst Malaga is the 4th cheapest. The average price for a small beer in Malaga is 1,53 euros. If you enjoy the same beer in the Swiss capital then it is likely to set you back at 5,64 euros. Other expensive cities included in the index were Hong Kong at an average of 5,50 euros and Tel Aviv 5,17 euros.
In Spain, Barcelona appears in the index as the 25 most expensive city with an average of 3,44 euros ahead of Madrid and Seville.
The study calculated the average cost using the value of the most popular beers with a volume of 33cl and taking into account the price as sold in various hotels and bars. It was undertaken by GoEuro an online travel company.
